Portrait: Margaux, Manufacturing Operator
19 octobre 2023What are your main tasks at GUIALTO?
I'm in charge of manufacturing and assembling all the parts of the K2 equipment. Specifically, I have to assemble one by one the more than eighty parts that make up the tank wiper and the filling station. There are a lot of steps for each sub-assembly, so it's important not to lose track!
I'm also responsible for monitoring manufacturing quality. We have introduced systematic checks to ensure that the equipment manufactured is always functional and efficient.
What skills do you need to carry out these tasks?
I'd say you have to be meticulous, because there are a lot of delicate stages with fairly high levels of precision. You also need to be rigorous. Each stage of assembly has to be carried out in the right order, with the right tools, the right parts and in a conscientious manner. And you have to want to do your job well. I'm fairly independent in what I do, and in planning the tasks to be carried out. You have to want to make progress, and enjoy seeing the work done at the end of a good day.
Why did you choose to work in industry?
What I really like about my job is the versatility of the tasks involved. No two days are the same, and every day there are different tasks to be carried out. And with good reason: to go from more than eighty spare parts to functional, beautifully packaged equipment, that's a lot of work!
And then at the end of the day, I can look at everything I've built, everything I've made with my own hands, and I think that's great.
What does Made In France mean to you?
I think it's great that we're putting the spotlight back on what's made in France. I'm proud to be involved in the manufacture of complex equipment in France. I'm happy to tell my family and friends about it. It's bringing a new dynamism to the Landes!
Women and Industry? You say yes?
Women and industry, of course. Because we're all equal and a woman can do a physical, manual job, and do it well! And find satisfaction in it.
